KE60 Prototype

We launched KE60 in 2012, positioning the main generators and the battery storage on a trailer for maximum mobility.
The 60 kW nominal power prototype has been tested in different locations, from Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta alpine valleys to Puglia and Sardinia island open fields. The machine performances increased at each wings development stage, side by side with the autonomous flight controller.

In 2016, the need for additional storage capacity led to a deep hardware architecture revision, introducing external battery storage and the high dynamic supercapacitors buffer.
The kite dimension is gradually increasing from 25 to 50 m2.
Thanks to Aeronautica Militare, in 2017 we started testing at San Pancrazio Salentino airfield in Puglia.

Kitenergy is adopting the latest energy conversion technologies from leading industrial suppliers.

KE60 is powered by two PMS motors  (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors) as main generators, while our hybrid storage merges batteries and supercapacitors for optimized energy flow management driven by state of the art DC-DC converters.

Our device can work in island, integrated within a micro grid or connected to local grid with custom storage dimensioned according to specific application field.
